Look in the mirror. What do you see? Is it any different from looking out into the horizon? Is it different from the orange glow of a sunset or the crystal cold breath of a winter morning? Does it differ from looking into the eyes of a lover, the smile of a child, the heart of a grandmother? The world around us is a mirror of that which is within us. What we perceive and interpret through our five senses determines our reality. What we expect, feel, react to -- AND how we react all are determined by our inner self. We attract what we seek. We see what we look for. People treat us as we expect to be treated. The things we experience come from the actions we take.
The world is your mirror. Everything around us – the people, the places, our experiences…are all reflections of our soul.
Whether you are looking in the mirror or out into the world around you…consider whether or not you like what you see. More importantly, realize that you have the power to change whatever it is you do see. Your world is a part of you; it is an extension of you. It is an expression of you. With your thoughts and actions, you can make it what you want it to be.
You can spend an eternity looking elsewhere for truth and love, intelligence and good will, imploring God and man—all in vain. You must begin in yourself, with yourself—this is the inexorable law. You cannot change the image without changing the face. First realize that your world is only a reflection of yourself and stop finding fault with the reflection. Attend to yourself, set yourself right—mentally and emotionally. The physical will follow automatically.
